As 2023 nears its end, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the milestones we’ve hit, the challenges we’ve faced, and what has been top of mind all year.

We’re thankful for our customers who have accompanied us on our journey and look forward to abundance and growth in the coming year.

Let’s take a look at some of the best of 2023 stories that made our headlines this year:

10. Automation within HR organizations

Automation: The Key to Driving HR Orgs Forward

We started off 2023 by taking a look at the role automation was playing within HR organizations and how it would continue to evolve. In our survey, we learned that HR teams spend five to 12 hours every week on manual paperwork, taking their focus away from revenue-generating tasks that could grow their business.

Given that data, 75% of HR teams were planning on increasing their investment in workflow automation this year, hoping to automate some of their repetitive tasks and win back time to refocus their efforts.

This investment in automation was not just reserved for enterprises. One-third of small-and-medium businesses (SMBs) were planning to increase their investment in automation and, thus, their competitive advantage.

Our survey also found that more than 90% of HR professionals were prioritizing low-code/no-code tools – like airSlate products – that are easy to implement.

9. Using automation to communicate with employees in a novel way

How one hospital is using workflow automation to completely change the way they communicate with staff

We love speaking with our customers and aim to speak with as many as possible to hear what’s working, what could be improved, and how our low-code/no-code solutions are being used. In 2023, we were lucky to have enlightening conversations with many of our customers.

Christy Knowles, Chief Human Resources Officer at Coosa Valley Medical Center, told us that using airSlate completely changed the way all employees communicated with one another.

As a hospital with more than 540 employees, disseminating important information to each and every staff member proved to be a challenge. Not every staff member had access to email, which meant they were at risk of missing critical updates.

Christy and her team realized that one particular airSlate feature was the answer to their problems: QR codes. Because airSlate generates QR codes that correspond to any created workflows, Christy’s team uses these codes to give employees easy access to forms and information all around the hospital.

QR coded flyers are placed around the hospital, making it easy for employees to scan the code while they’re on the go and complete any documents needed. What a great idea!

8. Helping clinical researchers meet compliance requirements

Ora Clinical customer story

Our long-time customers Ivan Veloz and Josh McConaghy of Ora Clinical gave us insights into how our eSignature solution, SignNow, has helped the clinical research firm remain compliant

Ora Clinical conducts ophthalmologic clinical trials year-round which are subject to strict HIPAA, Part 11, and other compliance requirements. That coupled with the need for a streamlined process to handle a large volume of paperwork led Ivan and Josh and the Ora Clinical team to explore SignNow as a trusted digital signature solution.

Not only is SignNow a Part 11 compliant technology, but it has allowed the Ora Clinical team to save an abundance of time.

Ivan explains: “Because we deal with so many trials and have so many sponsors, we do a lot of audits. Our standard operating procedures must be up to date and we must capture all necessary signatures. It is time sensitive and SignNow allows us to input information, send it to the right party, and immediately get it back which is priceless and has saved us so much time.”

7. IT & Ops teams use automation to regain control of processes

IT and Ops report by airSlate 2023

There’s no doubt that 2023 has been chock full of challenges for all of us, and IT and Operations teams are no exceptions.

Distributed workforces have led to poorly implemented and monitored technologies, shadow IT projects, and compromised security, which has resulted in 60% of IT professionals facing increased workloads outside of their day-to-day responsibilities. This year, IT and Ops teams have felt like they’ve lost some of their autonomy and are focusing too much of their time on manual tasks and messes to clean up.

Because of these challenges, IT and Ops pros are turning to automation tools more than ever to help them get back in the driver’s seat, increase productivity, and focus their energies on optimizing their infrastructures.

See just how IT and Operations professionals are embracing automation by reading the report.

6. With airSlate and SignNow, Little Sunshine preschool has increased their efficiency

Little Sunshine airSlate customer story

We love hearing any story about how something has made life a little easier for parents, caregivers, and educators – because, really, these people are true superheroes.

Our conversation with Amber Riddle from Little Sunshine preschools warmed our hearts when we learned that using airSlate and SignNow has made their enrollment process significantly easier for thousands of families.

The enrollment process (yes, even for preschool!) can involve a ton of paperwork. And once a child is enrolled, there is a need to collect ongoing data (i.e., more paperwork) from parents.

Amber and her team sought a way to not only make it easier for parents to complete documents, but also for the Little Sunshine team to collect, organize, and store important documents.

Thanks to airSlate and SignNow, Little Sunshine has simplified their operations and saved plenty of time in the process.

5. The platform of choice for a new summer camp registration app

FunJoin SignNow customer story

As the name of the company suggests, speaking with Allen King, CEO of FunJoin, was a delight. The energetic and enthusiastic entrepreneur came up with an idea to transform the way people register their kids for summer camps.

Manual paperwork takes a long time to complete and can really get in the way of the whole point of summer camp, which is to have fun. King sought to digitize the experience and improve his customer’s and employee’s experience along the way.

King launched FunJoin, a mobile-friendly registration platform for activity-based businesses. Thanks to its integration with signNow API, FunJoin’s digital document process is streamlined, productive, and efficient.

Find out more about how signNow API has enabled the FunJoin platform and watch a video of King talking about his experience here.

4. SignNow launches usage-based pricing

SignNow usage-based pricing

2023 brought with it some big news for SignNow users: the launch of a usage-based pricing plan.

A roadblock that eSignature users face is that pricing plans often don’t make sense for their business – they cost too much or aren’t flexible with seats.

For those who would rather pay per signature sent, SignNow offers the Site License package, perfect for organizations who send more than 1k documents per year and have various departments who use eSignature. This can be a really cost effective option, costing $1.50 or less per signature invite.

Best of all, this request came directly from our customers and that kind of valuable feedback is exactly what motivates us as we continue to grow!

3. SMBs are ramping up to invest in automation

Unlocking SMB success: Key takeaways from the new small business automation report

If there’s been one common theme in 2023, it’s that automation is absolutely here to stay. It’s becoming more and more integral to the way we work, impacting every corner of a business’s operations, from HR to marketing to sales and finance.

Our report, How embracing automation helps businesses supercharge productivity, revealed insights into how SMBs perceive automation, with 94% feeling confident about seeking out automation solutions and ranking CRM solutions as a priority.

With SMBs making up almost 100% of all businesses in the US, their behaviors and tech-adoption decisions are highly influential. The report explores what SMBs are looking for in automation technologies, how their trust in tools like eSignature solutions has evolved, and how they see the workforce transforming as a result of using automation.

2. Document Automation Hub: A unified platform for developer-friendly APIs

Q3 of 2023 brought a major product announcement: the launch of Document Automation Hub. Document Automation Hub is a centralized location where developers can access, manage, and automate a suite of document workflow APIs.

Document Automation Hub aims to provide developers with a unified experience, as they are accustomed to working with disjointed apps that just result in bottlenecks. With best-in-class APIs in one centralized place, developers will see less time-to-market and lower development costs.

What sets Document Automation Hub apart is its high configurability, allowing developers new opportunities for integration and automation within their apps and websites.

airSlate for HubSpot integration: No-сode automation to streamline your document workflows /blog/airslate-hubspot-integration/ /blog/airslate-hubspot-integration/#respond Mon, 09 Oct 2023 07:18:34 +0000 /blog/?p=4708 We are happy to announce that airSlate now integrates with HubSpot!

We are happy to announce that airSlate now integrates with HubSpot! This blog post will go over what that means for our customers and how you can use airSlate + HubSpot integration to level up your workflows.

What is airSlate for HubSpot?

HubSpot develops software for inbound marketing, sales, and customer service. Their CRM platform is made up of tools for marketing, sales, customer service, content management, operations, and commerce, providing an all-encompassing experience for growing businesses, with robust insight into their contacts.

With airSlate + HubSpot integration, users can kick off a workflow directly from a HubSpot record, like a contact card, and use the data to generate and pre-fill documents, route them for eSigning, and update records.

The integration of airSlate and HubSpot streamlines and automates tedious tasks so that sales teams can get back to doing what they do best – closing deals faster and more efficiently.

How can airSlate for HubSpot save time?

Using airSlate for HubSpot not only saves time, it also reduces errors, speeds up the sales cycle, and helps maintain accurate data.

With airSlate’s no-code integration, you can automate routine processes like creating, approving, and getting documents signed. The ability to start document workflows directly from any type of HubSpot record means you can save hours a week on creating custom documents for price lists, business proposals, or quotes from various templates (DOCX, spreadsheets, PDF, and so on). Instead of starting from scratch, you can pre-fill these documents with your HubSpot data.

By leveraging data directly from HubSpot, you can ensure that your documents are error-free right from the start. In turn, you’ll also close deals faster by streamlining the quote and contract process (no more toggling between windows to get all the info you need) and limiting the amount of information you need to collect from prospects and customers.

Finally, save time by eliminating the need to update records multiple times. Just sync your HubSpot records with additional storage systems like Google Drive, Sharepoint, or OneDrive and data will be accurately updated across the board.

What are the features and benefits of airSlate for HubSpot?

There are six main features of the airSlate for HubSpot integration, each with its own unique benefits. Let’s take a closer look.

Six features of airSlate for HubSpot:

 1. Workflow automation. With this integration, optimize your productivity by designing workflows that automate routine processes like creating, approving, and getting documents signed.
 2. In-app integration. As mentioned earlier, you can kick off your workflows right from within your HubSpot records. Within those records, you can leverage any type of criteria to prompt your workflow link’s display.
 3. Document creation and pre-fill. Customers repeatedly cite this as a favorite feature. You can use existing data within HubSpot records to automatically pre-fill new documents. Powerful web forms, as well as PDFs, DOCX templates, and spreadsheets can be used to generate the documents you need.
 4. eSignature capabilities. In today’s fast-paced world, who has time to chase down wet signatures? Route documents to necessary HubSpot contacts to obtain quick, legally-binding eSignature.
 5. Data collection and consistency. Experience seamless communication between documents and HubSpot records. You can update HubSpot records with new data once your documents are complete, or create new records (leads, contacts, and so on) based on completed documents.
 6. Document storage. Get organized and maintain an audit trail. Save your completed and signed documents directly in respective HubSpot records or additional external services.
The airSlate for HubSpot integration is now available, and more robust features will be added over time.

In the era of AI and automation, technology has taken center stage, revolutionizing the way we work and shaping the future of businesses. While larger enterprises have traditionally led the charge in adopting emerging technologies, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are recognizing the urgent need to invest in automation to stay competitive in today’s fast-paced business landscape.

A recent survey conducted by Propeller Insights on behalf of airSlate sheds light on the aspirations and challenges facing SMBs in their automation journey. In this blog, we’ve gathered valuable insights and statistics, and distilled them into the key takeaways that you won’t want to miss. Check out the full report for details.

SMBs are ready to harness the power of automation

The survey of over 1,000 SMBs in the U.S. reveals a compelling picture of SMBs’ readiness to embrace automation. With more than 30 million SMBs in the U.S. alone, their collective actions have the potential to shape the future of automation. Here are some key insights:

1. Tech stack optimization: In the wake of the rapid digitization brought on by the pandemic, SMBs are focusing on streamlining their tech stacks. While large enterprises often struggle with inflated tech stacks, SMBs are making an effort to invest in quality business technology solutions rather than accumulating a multitude of apps.

2. Low-code/No-code tools: Low-code/no-code automation tools are gaining traction as SMBs seek user-friendly solutions. However, more than half of SMBs have yet to explore the potential of these tools. Adoption often occurs either externally, through tech partners, or internally, with employees championing low-code adoption, also known as citizen developers.

3. Embracing digital signatures: There’s a significant shift from traditional wet signatures to digital signatures among SMBs. This shift reflects newfound trust in digital signatures as secure and convenient tools, particularly in our distributed, connected work environments.

4. CRMification of SMBs: SMBs are increasingly recognizing the importance of CRM solutions for boosting productivity. CRM systems, once considered exclusive to larger enterprises, are now seen as essential tools by almost 97% of SMB respondents.

5. Document workflow automation: Finance and sales teams are leading the charge when it comes to document workflow automation and eSignature solutions. These teams benefit from automation by streamlining processes and reducing time spent on paperwork.

SMBs’ automation sentiments: A positive outlook

Despite concerns about job displacement and change fatigue, and the challenges of implementing automation tools, SMBs have an optimistic outlook:

1. Nearly 94% of respondents believe that human interaction is essential for using automation and AI effectively.

2. Less than 15% of respondents express concerns about job displacement due to automation.

3. The majority of respondents (90%) anticipate time and budget savings from automation adoption.

More automation = more time

The ultimate goal of adopting automation tools is to enhance productivity and optimize efficiency. SMBs recognize that by allocating repetitive tasks to automation solutions, they can save up to 10 hours per week. With this extra time, they can achieve several objectives, including getting ahead of tasks, exploring a 4-day work week, focusing on high-level projects, or investing in team bonding activities to boost employee morale.

Seizing the Opportunity

For SMBs, wise investment decisions in automation tools not only contribute to profitability but also enhance the customer experience. Moreover, this presents a unique opportunity for upskilling employees in a manageable way. Prioritizing your professional growth is pivotal for thriving in the constantly evolving tech sector.

For instance, joining the certification programs offered by airSlate Academy will help you to gain crucial document workflow automation skills. These abilities will not only make you an indispensable asset to your organization but also drive your career to new heights.

As automation becomes more prevalent, knowing how to leverage AI solutions and optimize efficiency will be a valuable skill sought after by future recruiters.

Final thoughts

SMBs are at the forefront of automation adoption, driven by a desire for productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness. As they navigate the automation landscape, choosing the right solutions and focusing on training and upskilling will be essential for their long-term success. By harnessing the power of automation and AI, SMBs can unlock more time, streamline processes, and ultimately thrive in an increasingly digital business environment.

Why am I reflecting on my own back-to-school experience every September? Is there any logical, social, or academic explanation?

Managed service providers (MSPs) offer their clients (typically, SMBs) a variety of services related to IT needs. MSPs help clients set up software and hardware that creates a safe, secure, and reliable infrastructure for an optimal and efficient work environment.

To remain profitable and competitive, MSPs should strive to earn recurring revenue and should continuously innovate the services they are offering. The most successful MSPs are viewed as trusted advisors by their clients and are part of their decision making processes.

As automation continues to transform the way we work, MSPs need to consider ways in which they will help their clients implement automation technology

In this blog, we will explore the opportunities available to MSPs and how they can leverage the right automation tools.

Why invest in automation?

In a recent MicKinsey Global Survey, it was revealed that more than 70% of respondents were, at minimum, piloting automation technology.

This is quite telling.

We’ve reached the phase where there’s no turning back from automation. Companies in all industries are embracing it to make them more agile, improve their efficiency, and reduce their costs.

As an MSP, SMBs rely on you to help them stay at the forefront of innovation. You want to help them invest in the right technology at the right time and, importantly, have them return to you repeatedly to help them grow and scale their businesses.

With a growing array of workflow automation solutions available on the market, how can MSPs focus on the right solutions to offer their clients?

A great place to start is with no code and low code solutions.

These types of applications expect to grow 55% by 2024 and capture $12 billion in revenue, according to Gartner

No code/low code solutions present an exciting opportunity because they make technology accessible to the mid-market and to SMBs in an approachable way, without requiring significant upskilling on the MSPs part.

What’s in it for MSPs?

Any MSP owner or manager will tell you that business growth and scalability are a top priority. It’s not enough to win new customers and upsell existing ones – MSPs are often looking for ways to expand their businesses.

Offering automation as a service can benefit MSPs by:

 • Increasing their margins. High margins provide profitability, give MSPs access to more resources, help maintain a financial cushion that keeps MSPs healthy, and allow for MSPs to invest in innovative solutions that set them apart.
 • Bringing in more revenue. Recurring revenue is critical for MSPs and adding automation as a service opens up another reliable revenue stream.
 • Helping them penetrate the mid-market. Penetrating the mid-market can often require resources that many MSPs do not have access to. Because no-code/low-code automation is budget-friendly and does not rely on being highly tech savvy, it is a great way for MSPs to enter an otherwise challenging market.
 • Solidifying them as a trusted advisor. Nothing helps an MSP grow their business quite like their reputation. When an MSP is a trusted advisor who helps their clients make decisions every step of the way, not only will they have loyal clients who continue giving the MSP their business, but they’ll tell others about them, too.

The game-changing power of automation for IT and Ops teams /blog/it-automation-report/ /blog/it-automation-report/#respond Wed, 10 May 2023 12:00:00 +0000 /blog/?p=4335 Key takeaways from the latest airSlate report

The post The game-changing power of automation for IT and Ops teams appeared first on airSlate Blog | Business automation.

]]>
2023 is shaping up to be a challenging year for IT and Ops professionals – you are dealing with massive layoffs, the threat of an imminent recession, shadow IT, and cybersecurity risks. Not to mention the need to support your colleagues in finding and implementing tech solutions on their own, which might often get in the way of your day-to-day responsibilities.

Your work has become frustrating, tedious, even mundane. It’s time to take back control and win hours back to dive into the work you truly love. How? IT Automation.

Propeller Research surveyed 522 IT and Operations professionals on behalf of airSlate. The data indicates that 92% of respondents view the risk of getting pulled into problem-solving and fixing poorly implemented solutions as their number-one concern. At the same time, 85% are very concerned about shadow IT projects emerging in their organizations.

On the bright side, the majority of IT and Ops pros believe that they need more automated solutions to improve workplace productivity and regain control of their job.

In this blog, we’ve gathered valuable insights and statistics, and distilled them into the key takeaways that you won’t want to miss. Check out the full report for details.

IT and Ops teams are concerned with increased workloads and organizational inertia when it comes to implementing new technology

According to data surveyed, IT and Ops teams are challenged with supporting distributed workspaces and spending too much time on manual administrative tasks. At the same time, tech gurus are feeling frustrated because investments in new technology are not happening fast enough, and they don’t have the autonomy to implement the technology they want and need. Over half of those surveyed say that in order to embrace technology, they need support from company leadership.

As an IT professional, investing in your career development is a key factor for success in today’s ever-evolving tech industry. By enrolling in the airSlate Academy‘s certification programs covering Document Workflow Automation for IT Professionals and IT Directors, you can acquire essential automation skills that will make you an invaluable asset to your company and propel your career forward.

The vast majority of IT and Ops professionals encourage citizen development efforts

Allowing business users, also known as citizen developers, to leverage low code/no code tools to automate business processes is a common practice – almost 69% of organizations surveyed encourage citizen development. In fact, the success of the citizen development efforts largely depends on setting proper guardrails and ensuring oversight by the IT and Ops teams. And rightly so, 92% of IT and Ops professionals believe their teams have the skills needed to successfully implement and leverage workflow automation solutions.

Finance, Sales, and Marketing teams are the first priority when it comes to introducing and deploying automation

Our recent HR report suggests that Human Resources are the most frequent requesters and the most self-sufficient deployers of document automation solutions. And yet, in the next 12-18 months, IT and Ops teams will prioritize automation for document workflows relating to Finance, Sales, and Marketing. This may reflect a shift in priorities from talent-related initiatives towards profitability for organizations in the face of a potential recession.

Shadow IT will remain an issue as long as remote/hybrid workforces exist

According to the surveyed data, 85% of IT and Ops teams are concerned about landing in one or all of these scenarios:

 • Being pulled into problem-solving and having to fix poorly implemented solutions
 • Compromised security because of shadow IT projects
 • Incorrect implementation of the projects

It’s not uncommon for employees in distributed workplaces to use personal devices and preferred software instead of IT-sanctioned tools purely out of convenience. A shadow app can operate under the radar for months until the person who introduced it leaves the company. Once something goes wrong, the IT experts have to fix the app they never even knew existed.

Investing in a Saas management platform is one of the most effective ways of avoiding these problems. For example, you can go for a platform such as Zluri, among the most reliable cost-saving solutions for Saas expenses. With a reliable Saas management platform, you can discover unapproved apps, eliminate compliance risk, and secure unused apps, among others, to help minimize risks and losses.

IT and Ops strive for more autonomy and automation can help them get back in the driver’s seat

Doing more with less is a reality for many IT professionals, who are dealing with increased workloads beyond their original roles and responsibilities. Almost 41% of IT and Ops professionals are still spending too much time on manual administrative tasks, which hampers their overall productivity.

Leveraging document workflow automation allows operations managers to focus on strategic decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and achieve cost savings. Automation skills help Ops Managers and their teams ensure compliance, boost collaboration, and enable seamless integration with existing systems, thus empowering operations managers to drive organizational success and stay ahead in a competitive business landscape.

airSlate is a comprehensive document workflow automation platform that revolutionizes businesses by enabling anyone to create stunning documents and automate document workflows in a single platform. It scales to fit anyone’s needs, from simple tasks like editing PDFs and creating forms to the more complex ones like eSigning documents and automating workflows. airSlate is everything you need to get your documents done.

In 2023, the continued accelerated pace of digital adoption is challenging HR executives to explore the possibilities of workflow automation to maintain a competitive advantage.

HR teams spend five to twelve hours per week on manual paperwork, so it only makes sense to modernize processes and embrace automation wherever possible.

Propeller Research surveyed 355 HR managers and directors representing different industries, organization sizes, U.S. regions, ages, and educational backgrounds on behalf of airSlate.

The data indicates that HR executives are planning to increase investment in workflow automation technologies in 2023 and beyond to improve the productivity and efficiency of their organizations.

The survey also suggests how HR professionals can create growth opportunities for employees by implementing automation technology in daily processes and promoting citizen-led innovation.

With plenty of insights and statistics to review, here are the six key takeaways for HR professionals looking to invest in workflow automation in 2023.

1. There’s still a giant opportunity to automate repetitive HR tasks

According to data surveyed, HR professionals still spend an entire workday or more per week on manual paperwork. At that, only 10% of HR executives surveyed believe that at least 60% of their current processes are automated. That reveals a giant opportunity to automate manual tasks and empower HR organizations to refocus their time and energy on more productive, effective operations and generate more revenue.

2. In 2023, automation will increase where it has previously shown positive results

Since 2020, HR departments have seen a positive impact of document workflow automation on how their teams work to support larger business goals. According to data surveyed, in 2023, organizations are planning to introduce workflow automation across a number of HR processes — benefits enrollment, new hire paperwork, internal employee communications, and others — where it has previously shown positive results.

HR teams will invest in workflow automation in 2023

3. More small and medium-sized businesses are planning to invest in automation

One-third of small businesses are planning to increase investment in document workflow automation technologies to support their HR workflows this year. Previously, it was expensive and challenging for SMBs to prioritize automation due to the lack of resources. Larger enterprises typically have more budgets to explore various digital solutions and hire teams to implement them. Today, things are changing for smaller businesses thanks to technological innovations and easier-to-use tools. SMBs can now gain a competitive edge by implementing workflow automation in their processes and should take advantage of the opportunity to do so.

4. Automation will continue to foster citizen-led innovation

97.5% of HR professionals surveyed believe that their teams have the skill set to implement and leverage document workflow automation solutions successfully. When the COVID-19 pandemic started, employees had to master new digital technology fast to ensure business continuity. As a result, a new type of digital-ready workforce, known as citizen developers, emerged. In the coming years, citizen-led innovation will become critical to the HR industry using highly automated HR solutions and employers investing in recruiting and retaining talent.

5. HR departments prioritize low-code/no-code tools for workflow automation

Over 90% of HR professionals are looking for cost-effective workflow automation tools that improve productivity, streamline outdated processes, enable cross-functional collaboration, are easy to implement and use, and provide an enhanced employee experience. airSlate and its suite of automation solutions make it easy to go digital, even for organizations that don’t consider themselves tech-savvy. It’s easy to implement and use, so any team member can master automating HR processes as a citizen developer.

6. Automation will help HR organizations maintain a competitive advantage

One-third of organizations surveyed see no barriers to introducing no-code document workflow automation in their routine HR workflows. Yet, factors like budgetary constraints, integration issues, and technology limitations impede the process. HR organizations that take the necessary steps towards becoming automated-centric will maintain a competitive edge in the industry and forge a successful path forward.
